ZOE Missions

ZOE: The church is considering this as an outreach mission.  Please review the materials on the bulletin table at church and visit the website so you can give an informed opinion 🙂 Be sure to checkout Hope Companions and Sustaining Partners after you have read about the program.

It is an all too common sight across Africa, children caring for children because their parents have died of HIV/AIDS, disease, war, famine, and other causes. They face lives of loneliness, hardship and hunger. Many of the children end up begging for food, living on the streets, or worse. ZOE works to break this cycle of poverty, and give these children hope. ZOE goes into communities where the orphans are already living, and brings them together in supportive groups. ZOE provides the resources and training they need to pull themselves out of poverty in just three years.

ZOE’s social workers ensure children know about their rights, are free from abuse and exploitation, and can find a safe place to live. Children learn skills such as farming and animal husbandry at monthly meetings. Then, ZOE provides them tools, seeds and farm animals so they can grow and raise their own food. When children need a home, ZOE provides the necessary materials and their peer working group assists in construction.
